This dormouse is a small bronze 16cm tall in an unlimited edition.

It is photographed with a green background as well because it is a little known, now rare, mouse which lives above ground in low canopies. It hibernates on ground during the winter. We kept one which had been disturbed in hibernation for a few months in a glass aquarium where I could study the delightful animal. It  showed no sign of fear and ate a large amount of nuts and apple.

In the spring we released it where it had been found.
